Brainerd Beauty and Glamour Photographer – Makeup Tips for your Glamour Photo Shoot

While many of our clients choose to use our professional makeup artist, here are some ideas for those who choose to do their own. Even skin tone is important so we recommend that foundation be applied heavier than normal. Studio lighting may exacerbate uneven skin tones and produce “hot spots” or blotchy skin appearance. The studio also has a neutral finishing powder you may use all over your face on top of other makeup that will neutralize unnoticed oily spots that may result in a shiny appearance. Eye makeup should also be applied heavier than normal. Some refer to this as an evening look. Your eyes are the most important thing in your photograph so we want them to look their best and to help draw the viewer’s attention to them. NO SELF-TANNERS! Enough said. Our hair and makeup area has daylight balanced lighting which matches the studio lighting which may be different than your’s at home and will allow you to make any needed adjustments before and during your photo shoot. We also have some makeup items and accessories for touch-ups, as needed.
